Ариунболдын Жавхлан

Намтар

Javkhlan Ariunbold (b. 1990 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia) is concerned with the collision of two diametrically opposed approaches towards nature: the traditional, respectful reverence and preservation of nature by the nomadic population on the one hand, and its capitalist-driven destruction by politics and industry on the other. She graduated from Kunstakademie Münster in 2018 and concluded her postgraduate studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne in 2024. She lives and works between Cologne and Ulaanbaatar. Her works have been featured in numerous institutional shows, including Kunstmuseum Bochum, GER (2024); Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, GER (2024); Marres, House for Contemporary Culture, Maastricht, NL (2024); Goethe Institute Paris, FR (2022); IKOB – Museum of Contemporary Art, Eupen, BL (2021) and Warbling London, GB (2021).
